All of the original selections in this Best Of Section were composed, arranged, performed and recorded into Logic Pro X via Universal Audio mic preamps and mixed by me using Waves and UA audio plugins. I created the videos using Final Cut Pro. This is my first composition in 2021. The video is based on the Robert Frost poem “The Road Not Taken”.
This piece is based around percussion and bass sequences, piano and various solo parts. I played the flugel horn part at the end to work with the flute solo. I copied these video clips into Final Cut Pro, edited them and added them to my original composition.
I composed this piece based on a four bar piano ostinato in 4/4. It's sub-divided as a bar of 3/4 and a bar of 5/4. All instruments are from virtual sound libraries and performed by me. The video portion is a collection of drone video I edited together to fit my composition.
I composed this piece based on a progression of altered chords. I played the horn parts on a Yamaha Flugelhorn and a newly restored Schilke B3 trumpet. All other parts are played on a keyboard using virtual sound libraries.
This piece consists of bass and percussion loops and my live keyboard and horn parts. The video consists of various clips of reflective surfaces I edited together.
I composed this piece in 2018 and finally decided to create a video to complement the music. I originally named the piece "The Arrival" due to the fact that it was the name of one of the synthesizer sounds I used. After editing together the various animated video clips the name still fit, but you need to watch to the end.
This is one of my earlier compositions that I revisited in 2024 and added some trumpet parts and a flugel horn solo.
This piece is based around a percussion loop and piano motif that repeats throughout. In the melodic and solo sections I use long tones to create the feeling of falling and floating depicted in the video. I played the horn parts and solo using my Schilke B3 trumpet.
I composed this piece specifically for the video promo which was sent to me by Spitfire Audio in the UK.
I composed this piece specifically for the 50th anniversary of the United States lunar landing on July 16, 1969. The music is based around a minor flat 6 arpeggio used in sci-fi sound tracks. The video consists of various animated clips and original footage.
I wrote this piece with the intention of limiting it to piano and strings but it morphed into something more. All parts are performed my me into Logic Pro X using virtual sound libraries. I created the visual portion from multiple time lapse videos I edited together.
Here's my first composition of 2023. I wanted to do something cinematic and came up with this. The composition is base around a bass arpeggio and a halftime drum beat. All synthesizer sounds are from Logic Pro and Arturia. I played the trumpet solo live. After playing around with the big dogfight scene in Top Gun: Maverick, I edited together this video to kind of fit the music. This production is for viewing only and not to be copied or released. Enjoy!
